I am only 18 days away from THE BIG DAY and I am coming up blank for music for the ceremony. Our musician plans the piano and organ. I think deep down I really do want the Bridal Chorus for myself and that’s as much as I know.
I need a song for the procession of the moms. How does that work anyway? They are escorted down the isle and then does one mom wait for the other so they can light the unity candle together? (Any links or breakdowns for the layout of a Catholic non mass wedding with a unity candle, because I can’t find one!!! )
Then I need a song for the Bridal Party and finally the song for me.
I thought it would be nice to have Canon in D played for the moms and the Bridal Party played on the piano/keyboard and then the Bridal Chorus for myself on the organ but our musician told us there would be a delay as she needs to walk up the steps to the organ. Should I just do organ music for all the processions and if so any suggestions? I would think she could play soft piano music while guests arrive, organ for procession, piano for ceremony and organ for Bridal March for the recession. Any thoughts and help would be incredibly appreciated.
On the other hand part of me thinks piano music can be incredibly romantic. I’ve played around with the idea of walking down to only the piano playing kissing you by des’ree. It’s from Romeo and Juliet and since I’m in love with the movie version part of me feels more connected to that then “here comes the bride”
