I’ve been struggling with ceremony music ideas and wanted to see what other Bees were thinking!
I know I want “Concerning Hobbits” (yes, from Lord of the Rings) as one of the processional songs, either for the wedding aprty or myself. That’s what we’re going for: light and airy to compliment our casual springtime garden wedding. But that’s all I have selected: one song! I can’t find anything else that I like!
Personally, I think the music is a HUGE part of setting the right tone for the wedding. So what songs are you playing during your ceremony? What atmosphere are you looking to create? Did your ceremony venue give you an approved list? Live musicians or recorded? Basically, tell me all about it!

@dreamhazer: I choose Sigur Rós “Dauðalogn” for everyone to walk down too. I have loved this song for awhile now. Its slow so no one will be rushed walking and its long just in case i need a few extra minutes to breath before my song comes on to walk. I choose a piano version of ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow” to walk to. We arent getting married in a church but on a beautiful patio that over looks a lake at our reception venue so we had open range with what we could do.

My Bridal Party is walking down the aisle to “Never felt this way” by Brian McKnight and I am walking down the aisle to “Love of my life” by Brian McKnight. We are having an outdoor ceremony at a ranch house. Both songs are very significant to Fiance and me.

I agree, music has a huge part in setting the tone of the day!
I walked down to Schubert’s Ave Maria. We had a trumpet soloist (there is something about sound of trumpets in churches and cathedrals.. gives me goosebumps!) accompanied by a string quartet.
We got married in a church so they required live music and for the pieces to be appropriate for the setting. This wasn’t a big restriction for me because I always imagined doing it this way anyway
In a parallel universe where I have a garden wedding I might’ve chosen Here Comes The Sun 🙂
