Some background on the wedding. Baptist church that we are members of, traditional cermony, rural Ohio. lol That should explain a lot.. :p
So I asked my friend since birth to do a reading with his mom (who is like a 2nd mother to me) during the ceremony. He is not part of the bridal party because we already have 2 more GMs than BMs and as we have become adults we are just not as close as we used to be. But anywho. My question is this, what do I have him read!?
Originally I was just going to have them both read Bible passages on marriage until I went through them and realized that most refer to marriage as being “man and wife” the only problem with that is my friend is gay and I dont really think its fair to make him do a reading like that. His mother will most likely still read a traditional Bible verse but now im thinking that my friend should maybe read a quote or poem of some sort but all the ones I found were either super cheesy or in old english which I personally dont mind as long as its not super drawn out. Ugh Idk, does anyone have any suggestions of good passages, poems, quotes that he could read? And I know the love quote from Corinthians is a good one but that was used for my sisters wedding this past year and I personally think its a little over done even though it is a really great verse.
Thanks in advance for any help!! 🙂
