My ceremony is still far off and i haven’t thought about it too much. but i know i want to do some kind of “thing” to unite. we are both non-religious. i have heard and seen the sand ceremony which i like because we will be getting married on a beach. the only problem i have with it is that my sister did a sand ceremony for her wedding and i want mine to be different and unique for our family and friends. i have also heard of the candle lighting ceremony but i don’t think that would work on a windy beach. i just heard of a wine ceremony and although i am all for doing what i want, i think that would be pushing it because my Dad is muslim and alcohol is against his religion….any other fun, cute, non-religious ceremony ideas?

I was just at a wedding last night and they did the NICEST thing I think I’ve seen in a ceremony. They had a “ring warming ceremony” where their wedding bands were passed from guest to guest and everyone held them for a second and sent a happy thought and love into the rings for the bride and groom to carry with them through their marriage. I thought it was just beautiful. Clearly this wouldn’t work with a large number of guests, their wedding was about 80 people and the rings just barely had time to make it through 95% of everyone there. I loved it though, I’ve never seen that one before and thought it was so meaningful!

If you still really want to do the sand ceremony, what about using little colored crystals or little colored stones, instead of the sand. Just make sure your glass containers aren’t thin glass.
