I’m getting married in October in Newport, RI. I was wondering if any of you had any ideas for ceremony sites.
My fiance and I were supposed to get married at Channing Memorial but we found out that the steeple will be covered with scaffolding and the beautiful front window will be covered with a sheet.
We are getting married by a priest, but I think my fiance and I would prefer a neutral space because I am Catholic and he is not affliated with a religion.
Any ideas? Please help!

Do you have a reception space booked already?

Yes. We are having the reception at Oceancliff. We could do the ceremony there, but we would have to get married at 6pm. If we did that, we wouldn’t have daylight for pictures and I definitely don’t want him to see me before the wedding.
We are planning on having the ceremony at 3:30 and the receptiona t 6:30
I’m freaking out over all of this

Hopefully you have sorted this out but I was going to suggest the Kay Chapel which is at the Viking Hotel. We are having our wedding at the Channing Memorial Church and our wedding reception at the OceanCliff on May 22, 2010. Hopefully the scaffolding will be done by then but after calling about 20 churches I don’t really care anymore. Hope that helps.
