- Wedding: October 2012
Okay I am going to try this post one more time (stupid computer!) I am desperately trying to figure out how to decorate my ceremony location. I wont be walking down the aisle, I am coming down a stair case, but my groom and the wedding party are coming down the aisle and when we walk away it will be down the aisle, so it’s not like I can ignore it and have it be ugly! lol But my venue has some rules that are typical but annoying, no candles, no attaching anything to the walls (it’s an art gallery so why would I?) Stuff like that. They have tile floors that are a beautiful slate grey, I love them. That happens to be what my maid oh honor will be wearing as a dress color. So I don’t want to cover them up with a runner. It’s a modern space, I want more simplistic for the ceremony. I don’t really have a theme, it’s a pretty eclectic wedding, blends of different things I enjoy. Modern venue with what I call antique chic (lol) because of my love of antique typewriters. I am not a huge fan of kissing balls, they are lovely but it’s not what I am going for in this particular space. Then there’s the stair case…It’s big, it’s white…i’m allowed to tape things to it and the balcony above the ceremony space but I can’t really think of anything I would tape to it. I am going to ask if I can use those hooks with the sticky stuff that you pull and it comes right off…uhm, command hooks or something like that. It could offer more options I think. I will be doing this myself whatever I choose and the cost needs to be kept low. I will kindly welcome any and all suggestions! I will include a couple pictures to help you see the space.
(big pics are coming up! Sorry ladies, I just can’t resize them, not sure why it never works for me!)
Okay, instead of tables it will be these chairs set up for ceremony making the aisle and we will be standing on the platform there. Behind that is an alcove I am also allowed to put an arch in or something like that. But that’s where my typewriter and favors/card box stuff like that will be cause it leads right to the stairs where the reception is.
Here are the stairs and the above mentioned alcove. You can kind of tell how large and very white these stairs are. From the ceremony space you can’t see the wood flooring.
(last one I promise!)
They had an event there one day and she let me see it all set up, and they had these small paper lanterns taped across the balcony. So that’s something I am allowed to do as well.
Sorry again for huge pics, and sorry this got to be so long! Please help me ladies! I need it! <3
