Are you having a cocktail hour?

I really think you should get every single one of your pics done before the ceremony and then have it from 6-6:30.  This will be a lot more convenient for your guests for two reasons.  1.  They will have more time to get out of work and to the church.  2.  This way they can go straight from the church to the reception without having any waiting around.  I know at my venue people were not allowed in more than 10minutes before the start time of the reception.  If I gave them an hour to make a 20minute drive they would have all ended up having to wait outside to be let in.

I would say to have your cereomy at 6, so your guests have time to drive to your reception site and not have to wait for your cocktail hour to start.  Just try to have as many pictures as possible done beforehand so you can make it to at least half of your cocktail hour.  Any earlier than 6 and your guests will feel even more rushed than they may already be feeling if they are coming from work.

I say keep it at 5:30pm. It will give you more buffer time and my Future Mother-In-Law says it’s good luck to get married during “the upswing of a clock”. 😉
