I need some help figuring out ceremony time. I would like, if possible, to not see each other before the ceremony. How does that work with pictures? We would like some outdoor photos—the sun will set at 6:48pm on October 27, my wedding date.
So what time should we do the ceremony to allow enough time? I’m fine with doing pictures separately outside before the ceremony, just not me and my fiance together. I think our ceremony will be about half an hour, and then we are planning to release people by rows (about 220 guests) so I know that take a little bit of time.
We want to do it as late as possible to get everything in…thoughts? Thank you!!

Have you booked a photographer yet? It’s their job to know the best times for lighting and photo’s and everything so you should ask them what they think. Mine gave me a whole timeline of events and what photos would be shot at what time based on the time of sunset, ours is in the summer so we are starting our ceremony at around 530 becasue the sun doesn’t usually set till about 8 so it gives us plenty of time for photos. If I had to guess I would probably say have your ceremony start at 430, it will end at 5 then you have over an hour and half (during cocktail hour) to do photos. Then you get that “golden hour” for photos too when the sun is going down and those are beautiful. I am defintiely no expert that would just be my best educated guess haha
