We already know we want a church ceremony then reception with dinner/drinks/dancing. My only concern is that most of the churches we are looking at have either a 2:00 ceremony or 7:00 ceremony. (Looking at catholic churches so they usually have 5:00 mass.)
Is 7:00 too late for a dinner reception afterwards? We aren’t having a full mass, just a ceremony so it won’t be as long as a typical catholic wedding.
Anyone out there who had/will have a later ceremony with dinner afterwards? Thanks!

We’re having a 6 o’clock ceremony that will be about 30 minutes and then a cocktail hour. We had debated 7pm and had decided that if we did that we would actually skip the cocktail hour portion and then just do dinner.

That’s so tough. I wish they allowed Catholic weddings to happen outside of churches, but still with a priest – would make life so much easier. I guess i’d do the straight to dinner/skip cocktail hour option. Just make sure you are ok with taking photos beforehand – otherwise, you’re going to miss your whole reception. If you’re not ok with beforehand, i’d suggest the 2pm Catholic Gap option.
