Need help from those brides that have had their ceremony/reception in the same room…
If I may ask, how exactly did that work?
See..I too am looking to have my ceremony/reception in the same room. We are getting married at the Sheraton in the town I live in and trying to save on $ by doing it this way.
My concern is how it will turn out…
I was told by our coordinator that if it’s all in the same room..that the guest tables would be set up and then we’d get married on the dance floor. Then the guests would leave the room and have the cocktail hour in the large hallway *which would be partitioned off to not interfere w. anything else going on in the other ballrooms,etc.* Then the hotel staff would finish setting up the room for the reception….
How did you do yours?
I’m wondering how things would work on having an aisle….
and at the same time how guests will be able to hear during the ceremony and feel comfortable during the reception, depending on where they are seated.
I am wondering how that’d work for some of the elderly guests for instance….
As I’m thinking…it would be odd for the elderly guests to be up-close for the ceremony and then be right close to the dancefloor w. all the loud music, etc.
I also did think of possibly having the guests stand around us at the dancefloor during the ceremony, so that the issue of how the tables are setup won’t be an issue…
but then I wonder if that’d work depending on the amount of guests…..if I have 50-80 something ppl., would that be way crowded and uncomfortable for the guests?
Just my thoughts…..sorry for the rant…just looking for other brides help.
