Hi bees, I was wondering if any of you are planning on having your ceremony and reception in the same venue. If so, how do you plan on making your exit exciting?
Hi bees, I was wondering if any of you are planning on having your ceremony and reception in the same venue. If so, how do you plan on making your exit exciting?
I’ll be having my ceremony and reception in the same place. When you say exit, are you referring to the reception exit or the ceremony exit? I’m a bit confused with what you’re asking. Our ceremony will be immediately followed by a cocktail hour, and then followed by the reception. Our exit from the reception will more than likely be with the guests holding sparklers for us as we leave.
We did pictures between the ceremony and reception, so the guests enjoyed the cocktail hour. At the end of the evening we did a sparkler exit.
I am talking about the ceremony exit. I am planning on a 6pm wedding and so by the end of the reception I”m concerned about how to exit. I would like to use wands, and July in Texas will probably come with a burn ban so no sparklers allowed….just trying to figure out how to work around this…
I was concerned about this too, we are having ceremony with reception immediately after. I wanted to do the wands while walking back down the aisle but my wedding planner advised me that it is a very short walk and could end up a bit awkward. So I gave up te exit, we will there with everyone else until the end, and we ae staying the hotel so the exit thing seemed to complicated for us. I hope you get some good suggestions here.
Hi Amy in 43026 🙂 I’m Kristen in 43065!
Anyway, we’re just going to have cones of rose petals for people to toss as we walk back up the aisle, but that’s it. I think it’s okay to try to orchestrate an exit if you want to have one for leaving your reception. I might have sparklers later on too, but I’m not sure I trust my drunk friends with fire.
We are having our ceremony and reception at the same venue. Our ceremony is on the top floor terrace of a new hotel which overlooks KU’s campus. Following the ceremony we will be having a cocktail hour in a lounge called the All Seasons Den in the hotel on the main floor, and our reception will be under the first floor in a ballroom. That said, we will be able to do our entrances separately so it works out perfectly!
We too are having it all at one place. NO FANCY exit after the wedding or reception. I want to stay until the very end of the reception, so that seemed silly to me. My reception is in the evening as well and it just doesn’t seem feasible.
I’ve seen other bees use the flower petals in cones in this situation and it made for great photos as the bride and groom walked out after the wedding.
Ok bees, Just thought of this…what if we did the ribbons for our ENTRANCe into the reception instead of the exit….would that be wierd??????
That may not work either…b/c I wasn’t planning on having a cocktail hour…people will be eating…grrrr I may not get my ribbons after all 🙁
I just think it’s a cute idea…..I guess I don’t HAVE to have them….just kinda like the idea….
