My Ceremony and Reception are taking place at the same location and the room will be turned around in plenty of time, the question is Do I really need a reception card? My invitations are short n sweet and there is room to put reception to follow on it. Is this ok and if so how should it be worded? By The Way only mine and my Fiance name are going on it as we are older and are paying for it.

I’d just put something like “Reception immediately following” so that people know the reception is happening right there after the ceremony.

Mine is at a different location around the corner (actually walkable) and I didn’t put a reception card in there. I actually just put at the bottom of the invite “Reception immediately following at [name of hotel].” Most out of town guests are staying at the hotel where the reception is anyway.

I’m doing the ceremony and reception at my house, so I’m putting “reception to follow at same location” on mine. I’m not doing a separate reception card either.

I don’t think it’s necessary, just put “reception to immediately follow.” Every time I see this I always know it just means reception is at the same place as the wedding. I only think you need a reception card if you have to give a different address

I definitely do not think it’s necessary. Write reception to follow on the invitations. If you have a wedding website, you can explain the flow in more detail on the website.

Thank you for your replies. I just don’t want to spend it if I don’t have to.

Mine is in the same place as well and I didn’t do a separate card. I also reiterated that it is in the same location on our website.
