Unfortunately I think it’s just different for everyone. I believe once you’ve been checking a while you start to figure out what is dry/wet, high/low for you. I’ve only been checking for about a week and a half and yesterday I was like ohhhhh so that’s what high must be! At least for me, when there are differences it is fairly obvious but you need to be checking for a while to have something to compare to.

tommywantwingy :  when my cervix was low i could reach it with only half of my finger in my vagina. (my bottom knuckle was at the opening of my vagina) when it was high, my whole finger was inside and when it was at its highest i don’t think I could even reach it.

I would look at how much discharge came out with my finger to determine how wet or dry I was when checking.

Hope that helps!

You’ve gotta just keep checking it throughout one or two cycles. It took me a couple cycles to get the hang of it. And it can still be confusing. Reading about it online wasn’t too helpful because “firm and low” and “high and soft” mean nothing when you have nothing to compare them to! I had to just keep sticking my finger up there and feeling how it changed throughout the cycle to get it.

But for me, when O is approaching, it goes so high that I can’t really even feel it. I just feel something vaguely squishy wayyy up in there. Then at other times of the cycle I can feel it right away after just inserting like half a finger, and it’s much firmer, almost rubbery.
