So. My reception venue is ordering chairs to go with their newly ordered tables. There’s only one problem: this place doesn’t specialize in weddings, so I can promise you the chairs will be ugly and generic and probably even folding chairs.
I’d like to try to make them work, so I can save money on chair rental.
However, I’m picky about chairs! I need help with some unique chair cover ideas that you guys may have done yourselves or seen on Pininterest, etc.
Bear in mind, I hate the usual cloth chair covers with a bow on the back. I’m looking for something original/shabby chic/creative….and most of all, NICE LOOKING!
Thanks in advance!

Some kind of ribbons? I guess it really depends on what the chairs are like.. when will you find out?

I like the ribbons. Thank you. I’m not sure when we’ll know…they were “ordering them soon” last month. Keeping in correspondence with the venue hire person, so they can send me a picture once they have them! Thank you for your suggestion!

@NotreCharmeItaly: I’m thinking this will be our theme. Very shabby chic and a little bit of everything thrown in (mostly pastels) as long as they flow together like they do in this picture! http://blog.amyatlas.com/2010/07/diy-vintage-ribbon-backdrop/

ok, so, if you still have no idea about the new chairs they ordered, you could think about a decoration that not necessarily has to be tied (you don’t know how the chair back will look like!)… I would choose shabby chic buckets to be placed on the seats , they might contain a little present for the guests (depends on the number of the guests of course) and you could decorate them yourself…
