I didn’t have chair covers (because I didn’t like them), but that being said, I knew that if we didn’t go with the chivari chairs, I would want chair covers over the banquet chairs.  I think you can get away with using the dark brown banquet chairs, but the chair covers would be a nice touch!  Good luck with the home stretch of planning!

I had them, and I really liked them. However, tons of brides don’t have them and never miss them! If you’re 15 days out, I think you’ll be fine without them since you’ve gone this long without wanting them :).

I don’t think it really matters.  Personally, I find chair covers uncomfortable to sit on.  I’m constantly fussing with the bunching fabric and unraveling sashes.  I do think it adds a nice look to the room – but I don’t think it’s worth the price unless you have an unlimited budget.  As a guest, I’d much rather enjoy an upgraded meal or bar selection instead of having chair covers.

I’m actually springing for chiviari chairs. I think that most of your photos will show the chairs so it’s not exactly something you can ignore if you don’t like the way they look.

In my mind, unless the  chairs are ugly as sin, they don’t warrant chair covers.  It’s just an extra expense, one more vendor to worry about, and that’s the last thing you need right now.  Tell your mom to chill.

Do NOT worry about chair covers.  I considered getting them because our reception had plain, black, boring banquet chairs.  I opted against it due to the high cost and the PITA it would be to take them off after and return them… and you know what, I did not ONCE regret not getting chair covers.  I knew I’d be the only one who noticed, and to be honest, that day there is so much else going on you won’t care if there are chair covers or not.  Save the money for the honeymoon!

PS: My mom also was the one pushing chair covers, and I finally put my foot down and told her I’d rather use the money for something else.  She never brought up the chair covers once during or since the wedding (so clearly they did not matter at all).

I wouldn’t waste the money. In pics of weddings with chair covers, especially white, the sea of white overpowers all the other decorations. Once you have butts in seats the chairs are practically invisible.

If you want pics of your tables, have the photog take a couple with all the chairs pulled away from a a couple of tables. You see those pics in wedding mags and sites all the time.

I brought them myself from Amazon and it was fairly cheap and they shipped them with in a week. I had to get them because the bankuet chairs were bright red and my colors are black white and silver and I can’t stand red like that. And they were dingy looking. So if your chairs dont look suitable to your taste go for it.

I think chair covers are the opposite of elegant. Unless the chairs are ripped/stained/disgusting keep them as is.

As a guest, I have only been to one wedding that had them and they were an absolute pain in the butt (spandex for the chair which made sitting and getting up uncomfy). The rest of the weddings I have gone to, no chair covers to be seen anywhere and no one missed them.
