I have an internal debate going inside my head. My reception hall has black chair covers and white bows that I can use. They will put them on all the chairs and everything. However, my colors are navy blue and light pink. I hate the idea of the black and navy clashing, but I love the idea of chair covers. I think they look more elegant. I can’t afford to rent other chair covers, so my only option is the black ones or go without. However, I thought maybe I could have them use just the white sash and not the black cover. Would this look funny? Below are pictures I took at the venue. The first is a picture of the chair with nothing. (I’m using round tables, not banquet tables.) The second picture is what it looks like with the black chair covers.

I think that if you use the black chair covers with the white sashes, people will be confused about what your colours are. Also, I don’t think the sashes just by themselves will look ok, but I’ve never seen a chair done like that. I’d fear that they’d fall down because they don’t have the chair cover to hold them on.
Can you go to the venue and experiment a bit?

I am using sashes without chair covers. I actually really like my chairs. They’re white Resin with a square back (think garden party style) so I wouldn’t want to cover them up. I’m also having an outdoor reception so I don’t think chair covers fit that very well. I’m using organza sashes just for a pop of color. I don’t really think you have the right style of chair to do this without a chair cover. And they do look like they’d fall down.

I used sashes without chair covers, it looked awesome. I tied a silver bow ribbon on a white mirror organza sash. Double sided tape fixes that problem. The close up picture are not the folding chairs we used & the flower had not yet been put in @ set up time.

The room just looks more dressed up with the chair covers. I think if you used pink in the centerpieces you could get away with it!

i voted to use the black cover and white sash because the lights will be dim enough were you shouldn’t be able to notice anyway.
I’d only say just use the sash if the chairs you’re using are solid black.

I don’t think it looks good. You’d be better off without.

I am in the same boat. Chair cover or just sashes or get both?
We decided to do sashes without chair covers. We couldn’t justify the extra cost. However our colors are pink, green and purple and the chairs are blue.
I personally think it will be beautiful.

Gotta love the way some people react to another option! GROW UP!
