If the dimensions are good for you I can’t see why it wouldn’t work.  I didn’t do that but it is such a great idea!!

6″ is pretty narrow for a table runner. It might now give the effect you are looking for.

You can buy wider sashes though.

6″ seems kind of thin, but I did use chair ties as runners.

No one will even notice.  Good for you for being resourceful and saving yourself a little dough. Happy planning.

I’m not really sure. I’d think maybe 10″?  I never actually measured them but it doesn’t seem that wide beside the saucer, and I know my luminaries were 2″ in diameter…

@RedWhiteandBling:  I’m going to be using chair sashes as table runners! I found a bunch at this website http://www.weddinglinensdirect.com/chairsashes.html  that range in widths that are larger than 6 inches wide if you’re worried that might not be wide enough. They are as low as 89 cents each!!! They range from 8-13 inches in width and are 108 inches in length.

Good luck!

So glad I found this! This is what I put in the google search because I can’t see paying $5 each for organza table runners when I can just use a large organza chair sash (I want two per table to make an X). Thnaks!

Not really related……but I used table runners to make a tailored valance over blinds in our sunroom. Easy and cheap.

Maybe a use for after wedding.

I used to work with a catering company and we used them all the time. They look fine. You can even cross them across the tables and make patterns.
