I am getting married 10/1/16.. I am doing a country/burlap/lace/rustic “theme”. I will be having white chair covers, white table clothes, with a burlap and lace runner, with a round wood slab in the middle with a vace on top of that with a lighted wooden branches.
My original thought was doing a burlap sash around the white chair covers.. as I am looking into the prices of burlap (either in bulk, or the prepaid burlap bows) its all a little more than I wanted to spend.
What is everyone’s opinion on white tablclothes, and white chair covers with no sashes? Will be too plain?

It will be nice. Also burlap on your back would feel really bad!

How many chairs do you have? Places like Tractor Supply Co. and Hobby Lobby run serious sales on burlap. If it’s not in your budget, just skip it. No one will notice 🙂 Promise.

Nobody is going to notice or care if there are chair sashes or not. I think it’s a waste of money, and it sounds like you alread have plenty of decorations on the tables.

It’s your day and what you want, hun! I’ve seen plenty of weddings with all white tablecloths and chair covers and they look lovely and classy! If the cost of the sashes is going to push you over budget and it’s something you can live without, then keep with the all white. No guest is going to look at the chairs and say they are so plain and should have a burlap bow around them. People are there to celebrate your day with you! I’m sure whatever you go with will be lovely!

Honestly I’m seeing more and more weddings with plain white chairs for the ceremony and reception. Obviously it’s not bad to have them but I think it’s more mainstream to go without for a clean look. I was going to do burlap and lace for my ceremony and decided to leave them plain. I think it sounds pretty without them!

I personally hate chair covers and sashes so would for sure do no sashes.
However, if you are sold on the idea check your local facebook wedding resale groups. I’ve seen a million and one lace/burlap things for sale pretty cheap on my local one as the look is so trendy right now. You might find a good deal!

slomotion : Ditto, not a fan of chair covers, sashes or anything else I’m going to half-drag with me every time I get up. Give me a plain old folding chair or deck chair and I’m a happy camper.

slomotion : I third this. I don’t like chair covers and sashes. I think you’ll be fine without sashes!

I don’t care about chair covers; I think they may add a nice touch but really aren’t necessary. Since you already have so much decoration elsewhere, I’d just plain up skip the burlap accents! Save the money and put it elsewhere or just plain enjoy the extra in your pocket.

Do you have any wedding rental places near you, it could be an option!

Any woman wearing a backless or low back dress with thank you for not having a scratchy burlap sash.
Unless your chairs are really awful, I would also skip the chair covers. You end up with a sea of white in your pics.

jesskrup : I love the idea of a ‘naked’ chair with a sash/flowers. Im aiming for something like this:

I also like “naked” chairs lol. We are using natural wood garden chairs that we can rent for cheaper than metal folding chairs + chair covers

We are donig the naked chairs for our ceremony, but the location where we are having the reception has TERRIBLE chairs. So we had to buy chair covers, which I’m fine. But I was mostly trying to decide if I wanted to to the burlap sashes. I actually bulk burlap super cheap..
Thanks for all of your advise (:
