I always assumed that we would have chair covers…but now, I’m second guessing them!
Our color scheme is a dark plum and black, with dark red/burgandy accents. We’re getting married in Michigan at the beginning of fall (October 6th), so i’m hoping the trees cooperate with me and give me some color on my wedding day!
Our venue is a golf course situated in the middle of the woods and all of the walls are knotty pine. We’re going for a rustic feel and I’m planning on doing burlap table runners, possibly with some black stamping/painting.
I found these gift bags at target in our color scheme!
(yes, I got way too excited.)

So..back to the chair covers. Do you gals think we need them or no?
The more I look at them, I feel like they don’t go with the warm colors of the venue or our rustic theme.
If we did them, I would either do a burlap sash or black sash. (anyone know if burlap is uncomfy as a sash?)
If we did not do them, I would probably do a vertical sash to cover just the back of the chair..
something like this

Here is our venue without chair covers…

and here it is with!
(since we’re not upgrading the table linens either, I believe they will not be floor length..as this picture shows. I think this may make the chair covers look funny as well..like a super formal vs. a little more casual)

PLEASE HELP!! Any comments would be appreciated!!

If there are no budget issues, I say go for what you want… If there are, then the chairs are perfectly fine as they are. That taupe-ish looking color is rather neutral and kind of fall-like, IMO. It’s not like you’re stuck with the chairs in the first photo.

Those chairs are a bit too corporate looking for a wedding, IMO. If your budget allows, I say get the chair covers. I like the standard ones better than the vertical ones.

I like those chairs. IMO, the covered ones were kind of distracting and I agree with @EsqBailey: that the chairs are fall like and will fit with your theme. I def would avoid the burlap, that would be really scratchy especially if anyone is wearing strapless dresses and I wouldn’t want burlap scratching the back of a dress or suit.
I had really ugly chairs, worse than the ones in your first picture. No one even noticed them and they didn’t distract from the look of the tables at all. When it was all said and done, I was thrilled with the look of our room, ugly chairs and all.

We had chair covers, but only because the chairs at our venue were not only banged up but mismatching, and that was a way to tie them together. I honestly don’t think you need them. By the time you get a few butts in those chairs, jackets slung over them, etc., no one will notice what they look like.

Everyone should be so lucky to get such nice chairs at their receptions, so I definitely wouldn’t cover those!

I like the virtical chair covers because they are a bit different to the “norm”

I really dislike chair covers. I think they make the room look too sterile. We had similar chairs at our venue, and once people are in there, it looks awesome because they’re sitting in them!

I like your chairs as they are! It seems like they would go better with your color scheme than if you covered them. I had chair covers, but honestly it was just because the chairs were bright red and ugly, and our colors were light blue and white.

I would skip the chair covers, they look fine, however I would spend money to upgrade to floor length linens instead. The table bases are not attractive, and to me those short linens look incomplete or like someone made a mistake and ordtried the wrong size.

I think they go better with your colors than if you covered them. I wouldn’t worry about the length of the tablecloths either. You’re good to go In My Humble Opinion. Save your $$ for your honeymoon!

The decorator I have has a picture with half the room in chair covers and half the room without. When you compare them side by side like that.. I always say chair covers now 🙂

The chairs are already very nice looking. Save the money and the hastle, and don’t cover.

I am having a professional compay come in and decorate for me. They wanted to charge $300 just to rent the chair covers and put them up. I said no way!!! Plus they are really uncomfortable for guests to sit on.

Thanks a bunch ladies!! You were all a lot of help 🙂 I think we’re going to say no thanks to the chair covers!
