(Closed) Chalkboard Signs and Smudging

The chalkpens dont smudge.  If you don’t want to do that, (I would test this first), but I’ve used hairspray as a fixer before on other materials.  I’ve used this with charcol on paper to prevent the charcol from smudging.  It would probably work the same on chalkboards.

We used sharpie paint markers on ours, not actual chalk.

I’m using chalkboard signs as well at our wedding and I bought Zig-Posterman chalk markers from Amazon. You would use them like normal markers. They dry super quick. They are waterproof and will not rub/smudge off until you remove it with Windex.  Below are a couple of chalkboards I’ve made.

They have a clear spray you can spray over artwork, which you can find it at your local craft shop.  I used some on my pastel paintings and it helped with the smudging.
