I think the frames look great!  Once you start writing on them and see them 100% finished, I think you’ll change your mind.  If you’re worried about the stain on the frames, I wouldn’t focus on that too much because guests’ eyes will be drawn to the text in the center instead of the frames.

anhelms:  Wood is never all even in tone and color. If you like, you can still add a coat of urethane if you wanted a glossier finish.

I love them the way they are.

Were you going to put any other embelishment on them?  I think they look fine the way they are, but maybe a little bling or ribbon on them might help the frame part look a little more eye-catching.  PPs are right though, people will look at what is written on them, not so much the frame themselves.

I think they look great!I was actually looking at them trying to figure out what you didn’t like. Honestly, once you put the writing on them nobody is really going to notice the board itself that much.

anhelms:  They look great! If you want to add something extra to them, maybe get cute little stands or holders to put them on?

anhelms:  I think they look nice. If you wanted to spruce them up a bit, you could always add a little flower detail to the top or bottom corner like this:

Sorry it’s so small! But you get the idea!

I’m confused… what’s wrong with them? I mean seriously. I think you’re way overanalyzing this. Like wedding tunnel-vision lol. They look fine!!!

You really think people will look up close at your chalkboards and judge them not to be perfect? No one gives a crap.. trust me. No one cares about your wedding as much as you do. And no one will think something is wrong with a tiny element like chalkboards.. yeesh.
