Does anyone have any recommendations for lovely, simple champagne flutes that won’t break the second you look at them while holding a sponge?
I don’t like super-thick glasses so I’m hoping for something elegant, yet sturdy. My fiance and I drink sparkling wine pretty frequently and we’re already down to three of the eight that we originally received as an engagement gift. 🙁 Our other wine glasses have survived quite well so I don’t think it’s just that we’re super-aggressive washers….any recommendations would be much appreciated!
(Dishwasher-safe would also be a nice feature, but not a necessary one.)
Thanks!

We bought some Waterford ones on Ebay that we really like and are careful of, but I never ever put them in the dishwasher. They are super sturdy though.

Not sure if you’re looking for a specific price range, but Schott Zwiesel makes some really nice wine glasses and champagne flutes that are break/chip resistant and dishwasher safe! We have a couple of their wine glasses and have put them in the dishwasher so far with no problems at all! Don’t know if the shapes appeal to you but they have a few different shapes for the champagne flutes specifically. They carry them at Sur La Table…here is a link to the wine and champagne glasses by Schott Zwiesel that they carry:

My Fiance and I registered for all of our wine, champagne, etc glasses from Nachtmann Crystal Vivendi. We spent a long time going over all the options to make sure they were sturdy and didn’t constantly feel like they were going to break. They’re supposed to be dishwasher safe too!

Are you looking for some for the wedding?
If so, we went with Vera Wang “Duchesse” Flutes. Here is pic from catalouge and pic from wedding where you can see them in front of us:

They’re light weight, very pretty and seem sturdy.

Check out Riedel Glass (same company also makes Nachtmann and Spiegelau) champagne flutes. They are nice quality. And you can even put them in the dishwasher!

Thank you so much!!! 🙂 We broke yet another last weekend so I was very happy to put some new (hopefully more sturdy) flutes on our registry!
