Hi bees! I fell in love with the San Carlos Cathedral in Monterey and booked my wedding date there right away. Now I’m discovering that finding an affordable wedding reception venue in Monterey is not the easiest. We have a guest count of about 130 and I’m a weather-worrier and don’t want to chance having an outdoor reception. Our wedding would be in September (which is the nicest time of year in Monterey, but not necessarily the warmest). Any suggestions? What’s tough is that my FH and I are funding the entire wedding, so I’m looking for something that will hopefully work with my champagne taste and beer budget (at least one can hope!)
Is there an amazing venue I haven’t come across yet??…

@Auds424: Hi! I’m getting married in Monterey. Sept. is definitely one of the nicest months in terms of weather, I’d say you probably have the best chance of having goregous weather that time of year. Some places that we considered: The Memory Garden (near portola plaza), Hotel Del Monte (on the Naval Post Graduate School grounds), Mission Ranch, or Chateau Julien.
Glad to have another central coast bride on the boards!

@divergirl: Thanks for the reply and suggestions! Hope your planning is going well 🙂 Setpember will be beautiful! We ended up moving the wedding from Monterey to Saratoga. I was heartbroken to say goodbye to the church, but ended up finding a gorgeous and budget friendly reception space in Saratoga and another beautiful church nearby.

@Auds424: Have you tried Barefoot Bubbly?? It’s my favorite & very budget friendly! It sells for $10.99/bottle online but I get it at BevMo for $7.99! 🙂 My fav is the Moscato! 😉 I’ve tried 2 other flavors & they were just as yummy! Hope this helps!
