I’m looking for a wedding dress and I’m really not the typical bride. It’s all I could do to go to a bridal salon and try on a “real” wedding dress. Forget a veil, I nearly died of mortification when a poor salon employee put one on me. Just not for me! I’m much more into the dresses that are beautiful but not large, white and poofy. HOWEVER, I’m dying over the Casablanca brand dresses. I love how vintage, lacey and feminine they are. I particularly like the Casablanca 1975 and really like the 1874.
But like I said, not a huge fan of traditional. So, I really only see myself getting married in a dress that is nude, beige or champagne. I’m even considering getting the dress I like, and dying it the right color. And the typical wedding dress is so HEAVY. What’s the deal? I want something light and flowy.
Can anyone out there help??? Do you know of such a dress that I’m describing? OR, if you wore a champagne Casablanca dress (all champagne, not champagne and ivory) can I see a photo of it? Those are hard to find.

First off I see that this is your Debut Post here on WBee… so a BIG Welcome to “the Hive”
Coloured Wedding Dresses are become more popular (not just white, off white, ivory, and the occasional champagne)
Colour is a HUGE trend for 2013
If you want to save some money… and have greater input into your dress… think about creating your own via one of the Offshore Dress Makers (China). Then you have full control over what you design (top from this one, bottom from that one, colour etc)
Two of the best reviewed China Replica Shops here on WBee are Jasmine’s Bridal and Dressilyme…
You can use the WBEE SEARCH box to find more posts… some Brides have even tracked their entire experience from idea thru to delivery / big day. With photos and everything.
One cool thing about the China experience, is you can order fabric samples… including those in colour… and then actually SEE what works well together etc.
Hope this helps,

My dress is beige and champagne! It’s a Cristian Michele from Camille La Vie, I think it’s #99358 but I haven’t found any stock pictures of it online. It is pretty large and heavy (not at all what I orgininally wanted, I was thinking Tea length) but I fell in love with the color.
I’d be afraid to dye a dress myself though, there are too many things that can go wrong. Maybe you should just call a few more stores in your area and see if they have anything in the color you’re looking for just to try! 🙂
