We are having an outdoor ceremony and right now there is a 20% chance of rain. At what point would you reserve a tent? It’s changed every day since I was able to check (this is on the 10 day forecast). It went from 0% to 40% to 30% to 20%.

Gosh that’s a tough call…is there an indoor plan at your venue?

@pengoala: Not really. We are having the reception inside, but there really isn’t room to put chairs for a ceremony. Dinner will be upstairs and there won’t be room for a ceremony there either.

I think depending on where you live the weather forecasts can be notoriously off. I know the longterm forecast for our day changed minute to minute that last week. It drove me insane! And even on the day of, it wasn’t exactly how they predicted it. Maybe you could speak with a rental company, put some sort of a deposit down to reserve a tent just in case, but not have to pay them the full amount until the day of? I think the one rental company near our venue offered such an option. They also offered side panels etc to the tent at the last minute depending on how rainy/windy it got.

@pfinarffle: Yes I would go with this. You dont want to have to worrry about renting or running around trying to find one on the day of.

Have umbrellas for the ceremony! Just in case the tent thing fails… in a pretty container.
