I’d recommend staying with the church where you are members. You’ll have pictures at other locations, and why look back at your church photos and say “oh yeah, that’s that person who married us. isn’t the backdrop pretty?” Besides, there’s always a chance that the decor may change at whatever other church you go to.

When is the ceremony?  It doesn’t usually take that long to clear out after a wedding.

Does your church have a separate chapel or a garden where you might hold your ceremony?  Also, if your wedding is at 2:30 then it’s quite possible for you to be out by 4:00 as a lot of ceremonies last a half hour or less.  So your ceremony would be finished by 3:00 and you could still take some photos and whatnot afterward and be out of there by 4:00.

We had a full Mass at 2pm and were heading to our reception before the 3:30 confessions.

Would you consider having the ceremony at the reception site? (if your faith allows for ceremonies outside houses of worship that is.)  Then you could say the reason was so that guests don’t have to drive.  You might want to avoid moving to another church setting, because that would be a little strange… I agree that the time is a little tight, but I think you could make it work.  If it turns out that you have to have it there, maybe look into something like this:

That may not be the prettiest example, but you get the idea.  Something that could be construed as “wedding decoration” that you stand in front of, but also has the convenient secondary function of obscuring the mural 😉
