A new position has opened up in my dept at work. I work as a customer service rep at a call center. What we basically do is call our customers every 6 months to update their acct info (phone #, email, home add, employment info, veh info). I’ve been there since the middle of May and find it a bit boring. The work is very tedious. We get monitored by our calls and work. I have an opportunity to make up to $4 an hr for every hr worked for the last 3 months ONLY if I get a certain amt of points every quarter.
With the new position, I would be taking care of all the emails, faxes, and voicemails that csr’s usually do. With the new position, I wouldn’t be on the phones as much, I wouldn’t really be monitored like the csr are, and I would have a more flexible schedule. The cons are my pay would most likely stay the same, I wouldn’t be eligable for any incentive bonuses quartly like I am with being a csr. I just brought home a paycheck, the same amt that I make monthly as my quartly bonus.
I just really don’t know what I want to do. Part of me really wants to do this because it’s something new but I’m also nervous because once I’m in the position, I’m stuck in it for 6 months until something else opens up. I’m very money motivated and not being able to get that money is kinda depressing.
