If you are just changing your address with the post office you can do it now.  You have never had mail in your name-to- be so the name-to-be will not affect anything.

Since you are changing your name at work I would change address at work when I change my name. Since your mail from work has been going to your parents’ place it should be no big deal. Theoretically, if you change address with post office, they will forward your mail to you.

@Sunnyday278:  I would do the address change now.  I have moved alot in the past few years…and it is super easy to change an address (at least in WI).  You just go online and say, hey, I have a new address on a change of address form.  Your mail will get forwarded to your new place easy peasy.

I haven’t changed my name as I am not married yet, but from what I hear it is much more difficult and a totally different process than changing addresses.

@Sunnyday278:  In MI I legally have to change my address with the SOS within 30 days of moving, so I would say do it now if your state is similar!

However, if your question was about your driver’s license/ID, I know in NJ you have 60 days to change it. I’d say double-check to see if it’s the same in PA, and if so, just wait 47 days until you can change both and save a few dollars.
