Wow!! Congratulations, I’m actually a little jealous! You obviously made the right decision if already you feel so relieved. Not from Charleston, so I can’t give you any advice. But congratulations!

@Luckyinlove:  Congratulations!!!  I hear you about the weight being lifted off your shoulders.

You can also start a post on the “South” board where Virginia has some subboards.  The local ladies might be able to suggest some ideas!

I know Savannah, GA does a ton of intimate weddings like you mentioned. I’d guess Charleston would be similiar. If you decide to do Savannah, let me know if you any questions.

Congratulations! Things have gotten so much easier since we decided to elope as well, so I can definitely relate with the whole weight off of the shoulders thing. Honestly, I recommend everyone do it, LOL! I don’t know anything about Charleston. I only went once when I was about 12 to my cousin’s country club wedding, but that was it.

Have you considered a city park? They’re usually really inexpensive to rent. I know here in Portland you can rent a park out for around $200 for 8 hours. Here’s a list of parks for you to check out.

Many B&B’s offer wedding packages that includes a garden ceremony.  Google the B&B’s then go to their websites and look for Weddings/Elopements on their homepages.  Best wishes – We’re eloping too!
