I have a huge problem. I sent the save the dates out for our July 6th wedding at a large wedding hall. The same place where our ceremony will be. The wedding reception has been changed to a smaller backyard type reception. We cannot accomodate for the amount of guests that we invited, 110. How do we un-save the date 50 people?? Or do I just keep my etiquette can try to accomodate everyone. We are changing to the smaller backyard wedding to put our money towards a house instead. Which we didn’t have this oppourtunity before.

I think you should officially cancel the original event, and then invite your guests to a new event. I would do both by mail.

yeah..I think andielovesj has it right on this one.
I don’t think you want to be in the awkward position of uninviting guests.

thats really awkward. you cant really invite them to the ceremony only, so it looks like youll have to uninvite them completely.
i mean you can cancel the event, and reinvite people BUT if the others are in your life on a regular basis, theyre obviously going to know that the wedding is going again but without them.
can you not do a cake and punch reception for everyone? light finger foods and iced tea? i think thats better than uninviting people
