serenitysky:  I know lots of men who have some type of stone (diamond, sapphire, topaz, etc) in their wedding rings. Or even in other rings/jewelry that they wear. It’s all up to personal preference. How does your Fiance feel about having a diamond in his wedding ring? If he’s good with it, then I say go for it!

The ring you want to use for him is a pretty design. It doesn’t strike me as very feminine, even the way that it already is. I think it has a more masculine or “unisex” sort of look to it. An easy way to make it look more like a man’s ring might be to make it wider. I don’t know if a jeweler can do this, or if they would have to take the diamond and make a whole new band for it in order to make it wider. And, again, that really depends on your FI’s tastes. Does he like a wider ring?

Is the ring on your FI’s finger in the bottom two pictures? I think it already looks pretty great.

(I also love your ERing. So pretty!)

I agree. I like it as is. But maybe it could be melted down and reworked to be wider with a similar design if you’re keen on changing it up.

serenitysky:  I was meandering around the interwebs last night, and I found some pictures of antique men’s rings that I thought you might enjoy seeing. I don’t know if it helps at all, but I was struck with how these rings have a similar style and profile to the ring you guys got from your FI’s aunt.

serenitysky:  It looks unisex to me too. My uncle wears lots of mens rings with stones, everything from star sapphire to diamond.

I’ve also seen plenty of men wear “solitaire” bands. Sorry to hear about your aunt. Heirloom rings can be so bittersweet.
