I changed my name at social security and will change it at the DMV on Friday. I also changed it at all my banks. Yay! I have been practicing writing my new name to try to break the old habit of writing my maiden name. Did anyone else practice?

I can’t change mine until I get back from my honeymoon on the 29th, but I have started practicing signing my name. It’s only one letter shorter than my maiden name, but the letters flow much more nicely. Love it 🙂

@RobotBabooshka: That’s so exciting. I can’t wait to. =)

Most def. I practice signing my future last name all the time. I’ve been doing it for awhile…even before I was engaged. Yes, I’m a total middle schooler. Don’t judge 😉 Of course, my name won’t change officially until all the paperwork is filled out when we come back from our honeymoon in October, lol. So I have awhile left with my old name.

I practiced all over the place. But damn if I wasn’t allllll thrown off when immediately after the ceremony, I had to sign a few documents with my NEW name, and it looks like a 4 year old signed it for me. Just wasn’t prepared to start signing it for real!

Congrats! I changed mine this week too! I changed it at the Social Security office mid-June and then had to make an appointment at the DMV, which wasn’t until yesterday, so I had to wait awhile. I went straight from the DMV to the bank and the only other thing I still need to do as of now is call my car insurance company. I’m not in too big of a rush though since I kept my maiden name as my middle name.

I’m changing mine next week. I have been praciticing but it still looks like a 3rd grader signed it. lol

I had to! I sign my name a lot for my job. I couldn’t have it looking clunky, crusty for 2 months. I like my new signature more than my old one I think!

I really loved my old signature but this one looks pretty nice too. Hubby jokes that I sign his last name like a Disney princess. It’s pretty swirly and eccentric the way I do it.

My maiden name is so flowy and sounds really nice with my first name and my future name is so clunky and not as pretty. So I have been practicing writing it and saying and it still doesn’t feel or sound right, but I have plenty of time to keep practicing 🙂 Hopefully I will be used to it by 25 year anniversary lol
