(Closed) Changing a Family Middle Name

I actually LOVE my middle name (it’s really different), which is sort of a dilemma, because I was thinking I would want to keep my maiden name as a middle name, but I don’t want to lose my middle name! I think, follow your heart. As long as your family doesn’t think it’s some crime against your ancestors, I don’t see why not!

@nineteen87:  I just found your post and I am in the same situation as you and wondering if I should/can change my middle name when I get married. My middle name is also three letters and I am named after my mother and I think it sounds sooooo red neck!!!

From the research I have done it sounds like some states do not allow you to change your middle name when you get married; it has to be a completely seperate court petitioned process. Ack! And other states allow it but then the DMV doesn’t. WTH? Now I have to figure out how “worth it” it would be to change my middle name since it sounds like it could be a hassle.
