Hi Ladies, I’m new to the wedding bee blog. And I really need some advice or thoughts on this dress I have, and how I am change it into a ball gown, if at all possible. Heres a picture of my dress, I want it to go out from the top already, does it look like it could be possible? I put down a deposit for this dress already and Im inly going to talk to the seamstress when the dress arrives. I would just like to know what you ladies think. Here is a picture of my gown.

I tried on this dress, it was between this and the dress I chose. I think you can make this into a ballgown easily with a fuller petticoat underneath.

You can make it fuller with more layers of crinolin under it, but technically it will always be an A-line. What makes a ballgown a ballgown is the construction at the waist, not the fullness. A true ballgown has some sort of gathering or pleating around the top of the skirt and an A-line is shaped like an A, gradually getting fuller at the bottom. You can have a very full A-line or a not-so-full ballgown.
I think it would be beautiful with a fuller skirt. You would want to have your seamstress look at it. It looks like the outer skirt could easily go fuller, but the lining may or may not allow for more crinolin.
The other thing to remember is the length. The more you push the skirt out, the shorter it gets. If you are on the tall side, you don’t want to risk making it too short.
