Are you any bees changing at their reception into a less formal dress? If so, do you have pictures? I am not totally in love with my dress anymore….I have lost about 10 pounds since the first fitting and it just doesn’t fit me like a glove in the way I envisioned it. Not huge, but not tight the way I wanted it to be. And definitely doesn’t seem easy to dance in. So I thought perhaps around 9:30 or 10 (reception goes to midnight) I could change into something a bit more comfortable but still somewhat fancy, either a short white dress or a longer white dress that’s slim fitting so I can finally get the look I want! Anyone have any opinions on that….or any pictures to share of a “second” dress?

Is there any way that you could have last minute alterations to bring your dress down to the proper size? That will make you feel better about it. As for the second dress, I stayed in my dress all night.

I second MissAsB — would it be better if you could get it better fitted? It sounds like you do love your dress, just needs to be fitted properly.
I completely understand the appeal of a second dress, though. I am in the middle of a lengthy dress process, so on one hand, I want to stay in that damn thing as long as possible! But on the other, it is going to be dressy and large… everything our reception is not. I definitely want the formal ceremony as it is the most important part to me, but we are having a casual outdoor reception, so I want to be able to relax and run around without worrying about messing my dress up. I am sorely tempted to get a second dress for this purpose (well, more like 5th dress if you count the ones I have owned and am not going to use). I say, if it’s in your budget and you won’t regret not spending every last second in your stunning wedding dress that you can probably never wear again, then go for it!
