Hi Bees!
I wanted to know if any other bees out there decided to change their first name the same time they changed their last name when they got married? I am one of those who has two first names – of which some think the second name of my first name is my last name and then they always ask why I go by my first and last name. Very frustrating! I am just going to change the spelling of my name (I have seen others with the spelling variation) and combine it into one word (no space). It sounds the same (e.g. Roxi Lyn
> Roxylin).
My question is, should I just put the new spelling of my name (which is pronounced the same way) on the invitation since that is what I go by socially? Or should I try and change the spelling legally first before I put it on the wedding invitations?

@bonbonsparklesMD: You can put what you go by socially on anything except legal documents (then it needs to be your legal name) so I’d go ahead and just use the combined name on the invitation.

@bonbonsparklesMD: I agree with PP. You only need to write out your full name on legal documents and identification (driver’s license, passport, etc…). For everything else you can just go by your first first name. You can print just Roxi on your invitations and sign your emails with just Roxi. You can even introduce yourself as just plain Roxi. But when filing taxes or filling out HR documents you will need to use your legal name (i.e. the one on your Social Security card.)

@beachbride1216: Thank you! I will go ahead and order my Save-The-Date Cards, return address, labels, and wedding invitations with how i want my name to be spelled:) I will keep all other legal documents spelled how it is on my birth certificate until I can get it legally changed. Thanks again!
