I have a sweet pair of 4″ inch heels that I’ll be wearing for the ceremony/beginning of the reception. I want to get a pair of platform flip flops to change into just in case my feet start to hurt from the heels. I found a 3″ pair and a 3.5″ inch pair, but the shorter ones are literally like $20 cheaper.
Can I go with the cheaper ones or will I be tripping over myself if the flip flops are an inch shorter than my heels?

I had very tall heels and changed into flats to boogie right after our first dance. I didn’t have a very full dress, but I didn’t have any problems with. The only casualty was that my dress got a little dirtier around the bottom than it may have otherwise, but we also had an outdoor wedding and reception!

i changed from 3.25″ heels to 2″ sandals, and i was fine, except for the fact that i was stepping on the crinoline in my dress a bit more (especially when i stood up after sitting or navigated stairs). that said, it was the best decision i could have made because those 2″ sandals were SO comfortable! I even wore them for my first dance with no problem. I say go for it!

Okay sweet, so glad I can get the cheaper ones without worrying about any problems!! Our wedding is indoors so I’m not worried about it getting dirty, I just don’t want to be tripping on the dance floor! 😀

I’m curious about this too. I have been killing myself trying to find the type of shoes I want with a lower heel so I don’t have to change my shoes because I was worried about the hem. But I may just have to suck it up and do something like this and risk stepping on the dress a bit!

I had the same issue. I wore 4″ heels then changed into my comfy 3″ wedges that I love. I had the dress hemmed to the 3″ heels and it was perfect. The seamstress and I discussed it.
