(Closed) Changing name on credit cards

Unfortunately, you have to call each and every one. Most of them just took my word for it over the phone and sent me a new card once I verified a bunch of account info.

the credit agencies aren’t in charge of your credit accounts, they just provide ratings. you’ll have to call each card individually.

Changing your personal info (name, address, etc) has no effect on your credit rating.  You do not have to report directly to the credit rating agencies.  Your credit rating is tied to your social security number so as long as you change your name with the social security administration (which you should do BEFORE changing it on your credit cards) then you are all set.

Yeah, I wish there was a way to do it all at the same time. Unfortunately, there isn’t.  Some creditors are easy, where you just have to tell them you got married.  While others, you need to fax or mail them your marriage certificate.  It’s a pain in the butt.
