My fiance and I have decided to change our wedding date. We were supposed to get married September 10th of this year, but we relocated from Texas to California for my job, both started new jobs, and now the thought of planning a wedding just seemed to overwhelming. We decided to move the date to September 10th, 2012.
We had an engagement celebration for everyone before we moved since we are having a destiantion wedding and a lot of people wouldn;t be able to make it anyway. We made a verbal announcement of the orignial wedding date at that time, but I never formally sent out save the dates or anything for the wedding.
How should I let everyone know that we have decided to change the date? Also, any suggestions on clever/witty wording to put up on the website and send in a card?
Lastly, if we send a card letting everyone know, should it be tucked in the new save the date?
Thanks so much for your help.

I think you could just let people verbally know that you’ve decided to move it back (recruit family and friends if you need to) but I don’t think you need to be any more formal with the change than you were with the original (verbal) date. Then I’d just send regular save the dates, with the new date on it. People will get it. If they have questions, they can get into contact with you.
By the way, welcome to the bee. 🙂

Did you have any contracts signed and deposits made??
We are concidering moving the date to get the venue we love, but we have a photographer and a band lined up and down payments made for both. The band has no problem….haven’t heard back from the photographer yet.
