I love my middle name. I think it is customary to keep you maiden name but I dont like it.  Nothing against my family its just not a pretty last name!

I took my husbands name and I am now wishing I sort of didn’t. No disrespect to him, but his last name is insane and difficult to say and to spell. I went from a 4 letter easy pie last name to a 12 letter jumble. I’m also a teacher so this makes it even more awkward as well. I just have my kids call me Mrs. G. But I love the fact thavwent have the same last name as my husband, it makes me feel very close to him and I’m glad I decided to change my name.

I’ll be taking his last name but keeping mine as well. First, middle, maiden, his last name. I am fiercely close to my family and love my maiden name. I grew up in an area where my famiy roots run deep for generations and my family was very involved in the community (and still are) and I am proud of my family but I also want my honey’s name! I will not hyphenate so I will be signing most things with my first and his last name but technically and legally my maiden name will still be a part of me.

I voted first, middle, maiden, SO’s last…..but I’m not sure! I think I’ll probably do that but I’ll probably leave my maiden name off of most things. Unless it’s a legal document that asks for FULL name, I’ll prob just go by first, middle, married last.

I’ve always known I would take my SO’s last name but I’ve NEVER even thought about what I would do with my middle & maiden. My mom & I have the same middle name so I don’t think I’ll want to get rid of that (even though she doesn’t ever use her middle name, she uses her maiden as her middle)…I can understand why you’re confused!!!!

i am doing the same as @TriciaG: and @soontobemrsm11:.. i LOVE my last name- it is unique and harder to spell/say but i cant get rid of it bc it means a lot to me same with my middle name..  hubbys name is very generic (think jones, smith, etc) so i will be having 4 names also.. i considered hyphenating but that seems like such a hassle sometimes and hubby doesnt like that idea.. i too will be signing things as my first name and his last name, but legally i will have all 4 and i like that 🙂

I just read my name out loud with: First name, middle name (in Chinese), maiden name, FI’s last name. (It almost sounds like Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious –the sound of it is quite atrocious) I love my Chinese name; I’m keeping it as my middle name. If I do keep my maiden name in my name, I might go: First Name, Maiden Name, Middle Name, FI’s last name.

I’d probably go with First Name, Middle Name, FI’s last name when we’re legally married.

Husband’s family name is easier to spell than mine and it’s much cooler so I’ll be happily changing!

I am keeping my name legally and professionally but going by his socially….this has caused several huge blow out fights, haha! But I am putting my foot down on this one!

I’m going first, middle, maiden, hisname.  Also going from an easy name that most people can spell, to a complicated long name full of consonants.  I’m excited about the change.  Smile

I’m going with First, Middle, HisLast.  I like my maiden name, but my middle name is my mother’s maiden name (she and my father actually both changed their names to use her maiden name as their legal middle names, which I think is so sweet!), and I’m pretty attached.  My mother’s family is vanishingly small (only her, her sister, and their mother are left – her father passed away in April), so I’d like to preserve the name.  And hey, by taking my FI’s last name, I’m going from an 8-letter name that takes FOREVER to spell (I’m an Irish Mc____, so I have to make sure the person knows the third letter is capitalized) to a quick 4-letter name.
