Everything needs to be changed: driver’s licence, health card, passport, all of your banking info… the only thing I can think of that wouldn’t need to be is your birth certificate πŸ™‚

I think it’s usually a pretty annoying process. I think you have to wait until you get your marriage certificate back from your officiant before starting. That is the document you need. I plan to start with my driver’s licence, and go from there.

What part of Ontario are you in?

P.s. – We’re date twins!!! πŸ™‚

I am so excited to hit the 1 year mark! We’ve been engaged since JULY. UGH. Lol.

Planning is going well, since we started so early. We’ve got our reception venue, our church, my dress, our photographer… and lots of ideas for everything else. I think we’ll start getting more serious in the Fall πŸ™‚

How about you?

Do either of you have the original red and white health card? I do, which I love because it doesn’t ever need renewal. My doctor told me when I change my name I’ll end up with one of the new cards πŸ™ Boo!!!!

Grrr HST, don’t even get me started!!!! I’m okay with paying taxes, we get lots of good stuff for our money up here, but the HST is such an awful awful awful despicable idea. I can’t believe it’s actually happening.

And yes, one form to change it all would be nice. Is that like one ring to rule them all? Sorry. Random Lord of the Rings reference there. Too much invitation sewing makes me a little nuts….

I have the new health card because I’ve only been an Ontario resident for a year!

Yeah, you have to wait until you get your certificate… It’s pretty easy though.
I started with the SIN; then health card and driver’s licence at the same time. Now I’m completing my passport…

And from that point, I’ll be able to change bank account info, credit, etc… Have to wait until my passport because they want 2 photo ID and in Ontario the Health card is not accepted as an ID, which is totally weird to me, seeing that it’s the main ID in Québec.

Anyway, kind of annoying, but none are that long or complicated.

HAHA I LOVE this post… especially when bakerella brought up the red and white health card… mine is falling apart, but I have avoided getting the green one because it annoys me to have to renew it HAHA I’m just lazy!! thanks for the great info about name changing… makes me decide that both of us changing our names to be hyphenated is probably not a veyr good idea anymore!! πŸ™‚
