My fiance and I are having our wedding at the Chanler at Cliff Walk in Newport, next August! Just wondering if anyone else has had/is having their wedding here? I’m so excited…this was the first venue we looked at and we just fell in love with it. Now I am obsessively scouring the web looking for pictures from people’s weddings at the Chanler 🙂

@katie47n: Hi! I’m from Newport and it is a beautiful area. I just e-mailed them yesterday about quotes but they haven’t gotten back to me. Do you mind sharing the venue price or just if they are reasonably priced for “Newport standards” Are you getting married Aug. 2013 or did you already have your wedding there?

@katie47n: My fiance and I are getting married at the Chanler too! We’ll be getting married next June and are also really excited. I’ve been searching around on the Knot to try and find fellow Chanler brides, but I’ve had no luck. It’s great to find someone else who’s also in love with that place! If you look at Kristin Spencer photography, there are quite a few pictures of the Chanler. I’d love to keep in touch to discuss planning if you’re interested. In any case, congratulations and I wish you all the best!

We are getting married at the Chanler in September too! It is such a beautiful place. We are having a little bit of an issue finding bands we like that are acoustic and danceable…. have you had any luck? We are very tempted to go the ipod route after 6:00pm but not sure how that works out on the terrace…What are you doing to solve the music rules?

@RobnJen: Hi! We actually decided to just go the “day wedding” route. I really wanted a DJ because I just prefer hearing the original song. It’s also a good way to save money since bands can be quite expensive. I haven’t thought of using an Ipod since I figure after a few hours of dancing, people will be ready to go home or out to a nightclub in Newport. I’m sure you can talk to your Chanler coordinator about it and they will help you find a good solution to fit your group. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!
