I personally like the prong set better. Channel set always looks like too much metal for my taste.

And because you asked…here’s a pic of my e-ring/wedding band combo and a short story. It took me 4 stores and a couple of months to find my wedding band. I didn’t think I’d ever be able to find one that I really loved that was in my budget. Finally found it at the 4th store and I couldn’t be happier! (the band will be rose gold once it comes in)

@tlj390:  my band hasn’t come in yet because I ordered it in rose gold but when I was wearing it around the store it was comfortable. Once I’m married I will more than likely wear them together all the time. Although I did want a straight band so I have the option to wear it by itself, which I might do while working out, cleaning, etc.

I chose channel set diamonds in my band because I liked the look of the metal and it felt comfortable from the first time I put it on my finger.  Both look beautiful with your ering!

I’ve never ever liked a channel set band, so I’m partial to the prong set. With that being said, I was dead set on not getting channel and yet, I’m in love with this set- My engagement ring is identical to the one in the photo and I love it with that band:

Going shopping for wedding bands this afternoon, so I’ll have to report back on what I choose!

I prefer prong for round diamonds and channel for princess or squareish diamonds. I would be a little concerned about comfort and losing stones.

Well I am not going to be of any help, but here goes. I like both. (told you lol)

Having said that, I am concerned about the promise of adjusting the size of a full eternity band. I have seen those attempts to go up and down in size by adding or removing stones. It was definitely obvious.

I do know that if there is enough metal inside a full eternity band, they can remove some of it to make it larger, but not by a lot. When adjusting the size this way, you do lose some of the metal in the process, but the adjustment is far less obvious.

I guess I’m back to my original thought – I do love both!

I think that prong set bands look better in white gold and platinum, channel set bands in yellow- or rose gold.

Oh, and caits615, please post pics, I have an emerald cut solitaire and would love to get a band like that, my wedding band is a 3.5 mm channel set with rb:s, and they just don’t look good together.
