My jeweler and I are working on designing my wedding bands. I will have two bands to sit on either side of my e-ring. I was originally looking at pave but he’s recommending channel set sapphires (lighter Montana) and diamonds and I really liked the combination. Right now we’re looking at one band all diamonds OR sapphires and one alternating stones. I’m also looking for bands that can be worn solo or in a stack and I think this style fits the bill. I will also definitely have one “plain” white gold band to swap out. I know, it’s a lot, but I’m an options kinda girl.
Anyone else have channel set bands? I’m still on the fence over eternity or not. FH wants me to do eternity but the practical side of me doesn’t see the need. I’m really all over the board and I never knew it would be so hard! Couldn’t imagine having to design my e-ring so major kudos to my jeweler and FH!! So show me yours and how you styled them. I need inspo. I’m still considering pave, too.
Here is my ring and then the bands we were using for inspo. My bands would be slightly thinner and be much lighter sapphires.

I love channel set bands. I have one now…looking to get a sapphire and ruby band in the future. I think they look awesome on their own or paired with an ering.

Oh I love that contrast with the gold!! The being able to stand on their own is what’s really swaying me towards them.

I’m getting a channel set band with princess cut stones so there’s no spaces, just sparkle. I love how the setting keeps the stones safe and I’m not as worried about losing one with my clumsy hands! (also why I have a bezel set engagement ring, lol!)

I have a channel set full eternity band and I love it… It’s my favorite ring out of all I’ve ever had!

This is my channel set moissy band, which I wear all the time with my “work” rings. It’s practical and has grerat sparkle, when I first got it I didn’t love it but it’s one of my faves now.

I have both. The band I was married with is channel set, but for my first anniversary I asked for a prong setting band. I find my prong setting MUCH more sparkly than the channel setting. My jeweller says it’s because the light can get under and through the diamonds in a prong set, but in a channel setting there is a “wall” of gold blocking the sides and underneath. I still love my channel set for sentimental reasons, but much prefer the sparkle of my prong setting band. Just my opinion… you have to go with what you love.

That’s a pretty ring set!

I have a dainty 18k WG channel set band I have been wearing with my e-ring until my custom wedding band arrives. (It was an estate piece, so I don’t know stats other than the metal type.)

That is the around the size I was looking at! Apparently we can’t cut the sapphires down smaller than 1.5mm or the color will disappear so I’m not sure I will get it that thin.
This is exactly why I probably need a channel set and my sapphires are in a bezel setting LOL. My jeweler knows my lifestyle so this might be why he’s pointing me in this direction. I work a lot with my hands!
Love that stack!
Why didn’t you love it at first? I wasn’t stoked on the idea months ago but now I’m all “yes” to it.
I know I’ll be losing some sparkle compared to a pave but I’m okay with that! My emerald cut isn’t the most sparkly thing in the world anyway. I was considering one of each, too.
Thanks everyone! The more I see them the more I love them.

I love my channel set ring
also princess cuts so it’s a continuous strip of sparkle. Mine is a 3/4 eternity.
