Hi bees! I made a post yesterday about whether or not I wanted an infinity band or an eternity band to wear while working instead of my E-Ring since I work in nursing and can only wear a band as I don’t want to tear my gloves or hurt my residents. I’ve decided I want an eternity band, but now I’m questioning which setting I want. I know I want round diamonds, but I don’t know whether or not I should go with a Channel setting or prong setting, although I think I’m leaning towards channel. Show me pictures and let me know which you bees have and what you like about it!!

I prefer channel setting over prong because of the comfort of the setting and also the safety of the setting. My wedding band is a ruby and diamond half-eternity and when I had the opportunity to pick my own engagement ring, after a repair on my original went very wrong, I chose to have my new ring designed with a channel set band as well. I have been wearing the wedding band for about 5 years. It has needed no repair and looks as good as the day it was purchased.
Just the band…
With my enagement ring…
I hope you find a band that is perfect for you! 🙂

I really like channel settings too as I prefer more metal than stone in a wedding ring. I am considering this one for my wedding band, in silver and brown diamonds. It feels safe, fairly robust and has the right amount of glitter. I’d say go for channel if it’s what you prefer. ^^

I would do semi-bezel, all the protection (and non-snagging) of a channel set ring but shows off the stones a little better. 🙂

I don’t care for prongs, so I would go with the channel setting. I think it will snag a lot less than a ring with prongs.

The one I have in mind is a 1/2 ct. half-eternity as well! I think your set is lovely and the rubies look amazing! Thank you for the input!:)
Wow, I really like those stones that you have in mind! I think that will look so pretty!
Thanks for that advice, I’ll have to look into that and learn more about them but it sounds cool, and I definitely like the no-snag settings!
Yes, that is my thinking too. I just see the prongs as a little more prone to snagging where as the channel would just be smooth.

I have had everything, lol. I am currently rocking a half carat channel set half eternity band from Blue Nile. 🙂

Your rings rock! I heart rubies!

oooo that band is so pretty!

I picked a claw/prong set wedding ring. It is a more delicate setting though than a channel set but for me I just thought it gave me a little more sparkle

that’s so pretty! Mine would be a half carat half eternity as well, that’s cool!:)

I think I showed you mine yesterday..it can be uncomfortable at times and does tend to get caught on my clothes..so I would definitely go for channel set if I were you.

I always wanted a full channel wring, but my DH insisted on matching plain bands. I love them!!
