I love channel set. Durability is big for me.

I have 2 channel set bands. They don’t snag the way the prongs on my ering or heart solitaire does.

My sister is a nurse and she has a channel set band that she wears for work.  Hers is princess cut though and all you see is one big row of sparkle!

I prefer prong set, less metal, more focus on the stone.  And it’s easier to clean under the stones fromt side.   Channel set rounds look incomplete to me with the gaps, I’d only get channel for princess cuts. I’ve never had issues with snagging, there’s no sharp edges or points on it if its done right.

I have a channel set e-ring and my wedding band is prong… I love the mix.

KittyNoire:  Love that band! I was looking at one like that a while back. Please post IRL pics if you get it!

pinkshoes:  I want your rings so badly! I had to choose my wedding band with in the first month of getting engaged & that was almost 2 years ago. Well my style & likes have changed & I’ve been wanting exactly what you have.  I have a solitaire & love it, so I don’t “have to” have the setting, but I at least “have to” have that wedding band! Your rings are beautiful!

Peanut-Sue:  I love your solitaire and princess cut band and I’m not usually a solitaire lover. In fact my sister that is the nurse has the same set as you.

ButterflyButterfly:  oh really?  That’s exciting that I’m not the only one with the set. Both rings are so common yet I’ve never seen anyone with them. Thank you for the compliment too.

pinkshoes: I’m with you, for the same reasons. Not a fan of the gaps between the stones/metal in channel settings either. But I have seen lots of beautiful channel eternity bands…just not for me!

For the OP, here is my half-eternity prong setting (1 TCW). Never had a problem in the 5 years I’ve happily worn it. I make sure to get the prongs checked every year.

SoonToBeeMartinez:  Thanks! I chose this style because I wanted something that could stand on its own.

pinkshoes:  I kinda get what you mean regarding the gaps but I don’t think mine are noticeable. Not for me anyway but perhaps I am bias 😉 maybe it helps that mine is quite thin.
