I am trying to choose a veil for my dress. I’m in LOVE with a long veil, but not with the prices of them. I found a cheap website & ordered a cheap cathedral length veil. Let’s just say it was cheap for a reason, so now I am back at square one.
I found a chapel length veil from DB for $70 that I’m considering, but I’m worried the chapel length will cut off my dress (long train–pick below). Should I get the chapel length or spend the $130 for the cathedral?
ALSO, if you wore a chapel or cathedral veil, any real pics would be great!!!

@whitarens: I would look on a website like ETSY for veils, I would look at the seller’s reviews but if you want to maintain not spending a lot of money, I would look into getting a cathedral length raw-edged veil. I am considering switching out my veil from DB for a Melisssa Sweet veil that matches my dress. I have a cathedral length veil with beading on the edge that looks great with that dress if that is the same dress I am thinking it is. How much are you wanting to spend on a veil? And is the dress you are wearing the T3299 from DB?
I bought this dress originally and changed my mind and ended up going with a dress from David’s Bridal Melissa Sweet line.

@lovelylight99: That is my dress! I looked at the Melissa Sweet dresses as well (LOVE THEM) but they didn’t have any in my size in store, so I would have just have had to hope it fit me the way I wanted when it came in. As a plus size gal, that is not a chance I’m willing to take!
I might try looking at Etsy! As dumb as it is, I haven’t thought about that. I’m basically wanting to spend the least amount I can for one I like. It’s more me being stubborn than anything. I just don’t feel that a piece of fabric should cost that much. Our budget is tight, but Fiance supports me getting the one I want even if it’s a little moer expensive.
What was the veil you had that looks good with that dress? I only tried on the plain cathedral in store with it.

This is the veil that I bought when I purchased the T3299:
You can’t really tell that there is beading along the edge, but they are thin metallic beads that are along the edge, I tried this with the T3299 and it looked amazing with the beading on the dress. I think it is $150 @ David’s Bridal.
And this is the veil I am thinking of getting instead of keeping the veil I have. Although DB won’t let me exchange it, probably because I exchanged a veil before! LOL I am considering putting up for sale on here. The only thing I don’t like about the MS veil above is how the girl is wearing it in the picture. But then I have seen other pictures where she isn’t wearing it right on top of her head and it looks so much better. Just not sure I want to cough up another $200 for another veil. LOL
It is kind of funny that I ended up getting an MS dress instead of the same dress you have. I am a little bit curvy too but the MS dress actually looked pretty great on me…surprisingly! I am putting straps on it though because I don’t like the armpit fat thing. LOL 🙂

@lovelylight99: Ooooh, that veil is pretty. I might have to try it on in store when my dress comes in. Good news though, in looking at Etsy just now (very briefly), I have found several cathedral length veils, plain edged, for $30!! Going to look into shop reviews more, but that might be the solution to my dilemma. Should have gone to Etsy in the first place!
Oh, I do love that lace veil though. I agree the girl is wearing it in a weird way, but that lace is gorgeous!! And I like that it’s just at the top; I think it would be too much on the whole thing.
I feel you about the straps! That was my one dress requirement–it had to have some kind of straps or look good with them. I did not want to deal with arm pit fat, dress pulling up, etc on my wedding day haha.

@whitarens: Birdcage veil all the way!!! The back is so beautiful to be unnoticed.
