We’re quickly discovering that being the #2 wedding destination means everything wedding related is really expensive!  My daughter is getting married this July at St. Luke’s Chapel with the reception being at Harborside East in Mt. Pleasant (just over the Ravenel Bridge on the water with a beautiful view of Charleston, the bridge and the Yorktown.)

Thank goodness we are using a wedding planner – I can’t imagine being able to pull this all together on our own!

We also looked at Marion’s and liked it.

Congratulations!

Hi! Charleston bride here! We are getting married at The Old Exchange Buiding downtown and having our reception at McCrady’s. I absolutely LOVE Charleston, and there are so many great venues to choose from that are all unique and charming.

We used old south carriage company… they are the ones you see downtown with that cinderella carriage, too, if you choose to get that one….we did the one in the pic below (same pic as above) because the price was GREAT! Apparently, some of the other companies have to bring the horses downtown with each request/rental…. with old south the horses are already down there (because of the carriage tours) so, you don’t have to pay to wash the horses, clean them, and gas down there (and whatever else they tack on). Or time for the driver.  Smile

@bumblepup:  Was it maybe that you can’t have the ceremony until 6:30? That almost broke the deal for us, but we just loved the venue so much that we decided we’d just go with it. Plus, it was so close to our reception at McCrady’s.

Curious. What hotel is everyone planning to stay at after the wedding? We are waiting a couple weeks for our honeymoon, so we want to stay some where REALLY over the top nice after the wedding. I was think either Restoration on King or Market Pavlllion, but was wondering if there are any smaller B&B’s or something like that?

Charleston Bride here! My first time in Charleston was on New Years (when my Fiance proposed) and I just had to come back for our wedding!

Ceremony: The Battery

Reception: McCradys – I love everything about this place!

Photographer: Charles Merry (CMphotography) he’s great and so are his prices!

Bridal Suite: I just booked this today! Another bee said she loved it here –

Still need music, flowers, hair/makeup, cake, I was thinking about the black cab company for transportation or the carriage is a great idea!
