We decided that we’re going to get our photos done in Charleston and can not be more excited!
We’ll be driving down from NC in June. We want to make a weekend out of it because I hear it is absolutely gorgeous there.
From the map, it looks like we’ll be more in Mt. Pleasent than Charleston but we don’t mind driving in to Charleston
I have a lot of questions. Sorry 🙁
1. Any recommendations on a hotel?
2. Any recommendations on a restaurant?
3. What areas should we stick to? (Are there any main streets? Best areas to walk around?)
4. What is something that I have to see or do (because it’s so amazing) in Charleston?
Sorry for all the questions but we’re just so excited 🙂 Please feel free to share any other info with me!

If you’re staying in Mt. Pleasant, you should check out Red’s Ice House to grab a cocktail… I recommend the firefly lemonade as a refreshing treat as It might be a little warm in june… but it overlooks shem creek and you can often see dolphins swimming around. This is where I met my fiance so I might be biased! 😉
Depeding on where you are in Mt P… if you’re going to Isle of palms, etc… but if you do go into downtown charleston… Here are my suggestions
The Market –> This starts at the corner of East Bay and Market Street… its blocks of vendors selling souveniers, etc.
The farmers market at marion square (King & Calhoun) Saturday Mornings –> not just produce… a bunch of food vendors, art, jewelry, purses… My fiance and I take our dog and grab breakfast here sometimes but it’s always a winner when we have friends visiting.
King Street Shopping…
I always recommend the beach because I love the beach… IOP or Folly.
If you are even the slightest bit interested in history… i suggest doing a carriage ride (the carriages can be found on market street right by the city market. Again, it will probably be kind of hot in June but it gives a wonderful tour and history lesson of downtown charleston. My fiance and I took our parents on this in november and everyone absolutely loved it…
Charleston has some of the best restaurants also. depending on what you like, you seriously can’t go wrong. I love sushi at Oku with their sugar and spice martini.
Vendue Inn Rooftop Bar http://www.vendueinn.com/rooftop-bar great views
and so many more…. enjoy 🙂
