I live in Charleston. :o) I bought my dress in college, but visited numberous salons here to look at bridesmaids dresses.

Condon’s Bridal in West Ashley (http://www.condonsbridalboutique.com/): Bought my reception dress here, very friendly and helpful

Bridal House of Charleston in Mount Pleasant (http://bridalhousesc.com): They helped me order a fabric swatch, look at bridesmaid gowns, try on shoes, and were the nicest place I visited… especially since I never actually bought anything from them.

Jean’s of Mt. Pleasant (jeansofmtpleasant.com‎): a little on the snobby side for me; they didn’t seem to like that I was shopping by myself for a reception dress or that most of my girls were from other states and wouldn’t all be ordering their dresses together. I’d be willing to bet their dresses would be on the higher end of prices.

DeBorah’s Bridal in West Ashley (deborahsbridal.net‎): Nice and helpful. I had my gown preserved through them.

Bridals by Jodi in North Charleston (bridalsbyjodi.com‎): I never went here, but a friend got her wedding dress sash at Jodi’s.

Good luck!

Bridal Mart in Savannah on Abercorn St.  They have Maggie, Casablanca, Alfred Angelo and a bunch of others.  Definitely not fancy or snobby–nice ladies.
